Registrations & Warranties

The very highest standards come as standard with any work carried out under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. All Installers must be Registered with TrustMark before carrying out work under the scheme. Additionally many will be Registered with multiple other bodies (dependant on the measures being installed).

Funded by Energy Companies

Energy companies are obligated to provide funding for the Energy Company Obligation Scheme.

Who is eligible?

The scheme is targeting people that have high fuel costs and a low income. If a member of your household receives any. Government benefits you might qualify for a grant. Grants are also available if you are certified as ‘fuel poor’ or ‘low income and vulnerable’ by your local council. So if you don't claim benefits but you have high fuel costs, you might be eligible through local authority funding rules.

According to Ofgem (they administer the Energy Company Obligation scheme) claimants will still be eligible for a period of 18 months following the date of the award letter. Page 233 of the Ofgem Energy Company Obligation guidance has full details.

So if you were awarded Universal Credit in April but you got a job last week and come off Universal Credit today (for example) you still have a significant period of time (a year and a half) to apply for and install the measure, as you would still be classed as eligible even when you return to work.

While you can wait to apply we’d recommend applying sooner rather than later as funding rules can change at any time.

Covid-19 and eligibility

You will still be eligible if you return to work as you can claim for a period of 18 months after claiming benefits.
